Paul has worked for the NHS for the past 20 years as a paramedic serving the local and wider community with the clinical skills expected of his role and a kind listening manner for those who may be in need of that. Since moving into Telephone Triage for the ambulance service, he has become acutely aware of just how widespread are the social and environmental problems which bring about not only some mental health issues but those of deepening physical ill-health.

Paul follows closely the national and global politics of the day and is a staunch supporter of a full ceasefire in Gaza with an independant state for Palestine. The perpetrators of crimes against humanity should be tried in international courts, which themselves need to find a resolution to the issue of single country veto when decision making.
Sefton council needs to reflect on and reverse the decision to not recognise the loss of life in Gaza in the same way as they did for Ukraine.
Fairness starts with impartiality.
The demands of the few must not outweigh the needs of the many.
