Continue to press Sefton to improve detection and enforcement against fly tipping and dog-fouling
Tackle air pollution – This is a serious health issue in areas in the south of the borough
Improve recycling rates from one of the worst in the country to one of the best
Provide more street bins where there is an obvious need or a local demand
Ensure these bins are emptied and that takeaway businesses take more responsibility for litter produced in association with their business
Advocate for fair, democratic representation
The Green Party supports the use of a fair proportional voting system as this would empower voters and ensure councillors and MPs (of whatever party) are elected in proportion to the votes cast
Proportional representation safeguards against single party domination based on a minority of the vote
Few would claim long-term single party governance, locally or nationally, leads to good decision-making or political outcomes
