General Election Candidates 2024

We’re working progressively on local issues to improve the lives of all people in Sefton, and to improve our local environment. As part of the Green Party of England & Wales, we share a deep concern for social and environmental justice, expressed through our national policies. We offer hope for the future, for fairness, for inclusivity.

Greens in Parliament can make a Labour government braver and more ambitious. We have credible, practical solutions to the problems that face people every single day. We need more than just tweaks to the status quo to undo the damage of the last government and we are confident that we will increase our representation in Westminster in 2024.

Electing more Greens to Parliament this year sends a clear message about what the UK needs: Real Hope. Real Change.

Bootle

Neil Doolin

In May 2024, Neil was elected as the Green Party’s first ever councillor on Sefton Council in the local elections, defeating the sitting Labour Party councillor and Cabinet member by a comfortable margin. He has been a local campaigner for the people of Waterloo & Seaforth for several years: working on cleaner air for residents, campaigning against the proposed dual carriageway through Rimrose Valley, and successfully preventing Sefton Council’s plan to demolish the community library in Waterloo.

Neil has worked in the NHS since 1990 as a nursing assistant and then qualified as a registered mental health nurse in 1994. He has worked in a variety of clinical areas supporting service users and families including dementia services, a homeless outreach team in Liverpool and in recent years as an operational manager for community mental health teams across South Sefton.

Possessing a keen interest in developing healthier communities, Neil understands the link between climate, poverty and ill health. He and his wife, Lyndsey, have lived in Sefton for the past 10 years.

Sefton Central

Kieran Dams

Residents of Sefton Central: I’m here to change things.

The Conservative failure is clear, and let’s not forget how Labour have also let us down. It’s time to reject the same old story from both parties. Sefton deserves better than broken promises and inaction. Together, let’s pave a new path with the Green Party.

Vote for change, vote for progress, so I can be the independent green voice that Sefton needs.

Let’s do this.
